After soaring to 63 points the game before, the BridgePrep Village Green Bulldogs were a bit more limited in their contest on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a rough 65-25 loss at the hands of Somerset Academy South Homestead. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points BridgePrep Village Green has scored all season.
Somerset Academy South Homestead's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zachary Reynolds led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Reynolds has been hot recently, having posted 19 or more points the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kas Williams, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 19 rebounds.
BridgePrep Village Green's defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Somerset Academy South Homestead, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-7.
BridgePrep Village Green will face off against the Eagles at TBD on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Florida (Donna Klein Jewish Academy is ranked 513th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 520th). As for Somerset Academy South Homestead, they will head out on the road to challenge the Sharks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Divine Savior Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully the Hurricanes like a good challenge.
