Harding is 0-4 against Hudson since November of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Harding Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Hudson Explorers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Harding got themselves on the board against St. Vincent-St. Mary, but St. Vincent-St. Mary never followed suit. They blew past the Fighting Irish 35-0 on the road.
Meanwhile, Hudson entered their tilt with Benedictine with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Hudson slipped by Benedictine 20-19 on Friday. Given Hudson's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 46th, while Benedictine is ranked 214th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Peyton Neher and Teagan O'Guinn were among the main playmakers for Hudson as the former rushed for 46 yards and two touchdowns and the latter rushed for 133 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.8 yards per carry.
Harding's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Hudson, their victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-2.
Things could have been worse for Harding, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 21-7 loss to Hudson when the teams last played back in September of 2022. Can Harding avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
