After flying high against the Lafayette Jefferson Bronchos on Wednesday, the Lebanon Tigers came back down to earth. Lebanon was just a bucket shy of victory on Wednesday and fell 36-35 to Perry Meridian.
Loss or not, Lebanon got some senior leadership from Ciarra Hiatt who scored six points along with six rebounds and three steals and Emily Sperry who scored seven points along with six rebounds. Hiatt hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Marina Barr was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Perry Meridian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aubrey Hall, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariah Thomas, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Lebanon now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Perry Meridian, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-12.
Lebanon won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Greenfield-Central on December 28, 2023. Greenfield-Central will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. Perry Meridian will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Evansville North at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Evansville North's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matchups.
