Atlantic Coast is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Thursday. They will venture away from home to square off against the Creekside Knights at 7:00 p.m. Atlantic Coast is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.
Atlantic Coast couldn't beat Baldwin on Tuesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the seventh inning. The Stingrays fell just short of the Indians by a score of 7-6. The Stingrays have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Josleen Mendoza was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one triple and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season.
Creekside came out on top against Clay on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run sixth inning. The Knights were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Blue Devils. The Knights have beaten the Blue Devils the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Blue Devils has come to flipping the script.
Not much got past Isabella Seymour, who gave up just three hits to keep Clay off the board. Seymour has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Creekside let Maddie Hollis and Hailey Cunningham run wild. Hollis went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Cunningham went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits Cunningham has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Emma Campbell, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Creekside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clay only posted a batting average of .150.
Atlantic Coast's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Creekside, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Atlantic Coast has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Creekside struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Atlantic Coast skirted past Creekside 19-18 in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Do the Stingrays have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
