It was a good run, but the Citrus Hill Hawks unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 65-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Valley. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Tuesday (59), Citrus Hill still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Citrus Hill still got an impressive performance from Roland Thibodeaux, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jerren White, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Leading West Valley to victory were Malachi Black and Ahkil McClellan. Black dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds, while McClellan scored 19 points along with two steals. Black hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Alexander, who scored seven points along with six steals.
Citrus Hill's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-13. As for West Valley, their win bumped their record up to 8-11.
Citrus Hill will be playing at home against San Jacinto at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully San Jacinto focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Monday. As for West Valley, they will head out on the road to square off against Perris at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Perris is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
