The Vertus Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 66-65 to Northstar Christian Academy. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Thursday (61), Vertus still had to take the loss.
Vertus lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Reginald Pough, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Dah'mere Brown, who scored 12 points.
Vertus has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Northstar Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
Vertus will be playing at home against Bishop Kearney at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop Kearney is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Northstar Christian Academy, they will face off against School of the Arts at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
