Center Grove has gone 9-1 against Franklin Central recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Trojans will welcome the Flashes at 6:00 p.m. Center Grove is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
If Center Grove beats Franklin Central with seven runs on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Trojans came out on top against Bloomington South by a score of 7-4 on Monday.
Center Grove got a great performance from Kara Biever as she struck out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and not a single walk). Biever has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mae Munson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Sydney Herrmann was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Franklin Central didn't have quite enough to beat Noblesville on Tuesday and fell 8-6. The loss continues a trend for the Flashes in their meetings with the Millers: they've now lost three in a row.
Jadyn Tinsley was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrina Yorn, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one double.
Center Grove's victory was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Franklin Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Center Grove hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .371. However, it's not like Franklin Central struggles in that department as they've averaged .360. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Center Grove was able to grind out a solid victory over Franklin Central in their previous meeting last Saturday, winning 8-3. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Flashes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
