The Oakman Wildcats will head out to take on the Curry Yellowjackets at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The last three games Oakman has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Things were looking good for Oakman after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Southeastern by a score of 4-3.

Hampton Hall put in work no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Brady Jones was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Tucker Wilcutt also deserves some recognition as he stolen his first stolen base of the season.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Yellowjackets on Tuesday. Everything went Curry's way against Winston County as Curry made off with a 15-2 win. Curry hasn't had any issues with Winston County recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Like Oakman, Curry also got a great game from a two-way player: Blanton Gillespie. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Gillespie was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, Ethan Acosta was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Carson Dunagan, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and six RBI.
Curry always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Winston County only posted an OBP of .261.
Oakman suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 3-3. As for Curry, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
