The Cahokia Comanches will take on the Jacksonville Crimsons at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Cahokia is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 44-22 margin over Centralia. The result was nothing new for the Comanches, who have now won seven games by 20 points or more so far this season.

Machai Henderson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 139 yards and three scores. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Cahokia was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 313 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 191 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Another reason for the win was Cahokia's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Malik Mazyun, Kourmarion McNeil, and Zehki McCuller, who each picked up one sack apiece. Another thorn in Centralia's side was Mazyun, who picked up a sack, made 12 total tackles, and defended one pass.
Meanwhile, Jacksonville entered their tilt with Richland County on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They skirted past the Tigers 41-39.
Jacksonville found their leader in sophomore Jeremiah Jackson, who rushed for 190 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten carries, and also picked up 40 receiving yards. Those 190 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Jackson. Jacksonville also got a significant boost from Easton Ackerman, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 86 yards.
Jacksonville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as DaShawn Armstrong, Terrion Jackson, and Eli Musamba picked up one apiece.
Cahokia's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Jacksonville, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
