The Saxony Lutheran Crusaders will be playing at home against the Kelly Hawks at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Saxony Lutheran focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday.
Saxony Lutheran fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Notre Dame but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 57-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. Saxony Lutheran has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite their defeat, Saxony Lutheran saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Luke Eggemeyer, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Eggemeyer hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for ten straight games. Another player making a difference was John Hartmann, who scored 17 points.
Meanwhile, Kelly scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Delta 98-47 at home. Kelly has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 20 points or more this season.
Saxony Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Kelly, their win bumped their record up to 13-3.
Saxony Lutheran was able to grind out a solid win over Kelly in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, winning 57-47. Does Saxony Lutheran have another victory up their sleeve, or will Kelly turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
