Southbridge has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Blackstone-Millville Chargers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Southbridge will be strutting in after a victory while the Chargers will be coming in after a defeat.
Even though Southbridge has not done well against the Pirates recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way last Thursday. Southbridge strolled past the Pirates with points to spare, taking the game 66-50.
Meanwhile, Blackstone-Millville's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They suffered a tough 63-41 defeat at the hands of Douglas. Blackstone-Millville has not had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jackson Dunton, who scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Brady Folster, who scored 12 points.
The win got Southbridge back to even at 7-7. As for Blackstone-Millville, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.
Southbridge couldn't quite finish off the Chargers in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 and fell 58-55. Can Southbridge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
