Concord is 1-9 against Warsaw since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Minutemen will look to defend their home field against the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Concord's win against South Bend Riley wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Minutemen sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the Wildcats on Saturday.

Alex Jimenez looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Concord's success: when he allows at most one hit the team is 2-1 (and 6-11 when he doesn't).
At the plate, Alex Kridler was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lukas Ulfig, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
Concord hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Warsaw made easy work of Tippecanoe Valley on Saturday and carried off an 18-1 win. Considering the Tigers have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Reed Nelson looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had over his last four matchups.
On the hitting side, Warsaw got a massive performance out of Grady Nelson, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases Nelson has posted over his last 12 contests. Cohen Heady was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Warsaw has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Concord, their win bumped their record up to 8-12.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Concord has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Warsaw struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
