Slidell and Bourgeois are an even 4-4 against one another since December of 2016, but not for long. The Slidell Tigers will be playing at home against the Bourgeois Braves at 6:10 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Slidell sitting on nine straight victories and Bourgeois on five.
In what's become a running theme this season, Slidell gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They blew past Belle Chasse, posting a 80-47 win at home. Slidell's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
It was another big night for Jaden Hookfin, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Zay Bartee, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Bourgeois earned a 53-42 win over Thibodaux last Friday. Given Bourgeois' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while Thibodaux is ranked 206th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Slidell pushed their record up to 16-7 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 24.89 points. As for Bourgeois, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.
Slidell came up short against Bourgeois in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 60-56. Will Slidell have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
