We've got a battle between Panthers coming up. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Dwyer has three straight wins, Somerset Academy has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, Dwyer was able to grind out a solid victory over Royal Palm Beach, taking the game 11-6.
Ryan Legienza looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Miguel Marrero was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Owen Hewitt, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Somerset Academy came up short against Calvary Christian Academy on Monday and fell 4-1. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by exactly three runs.
Somerset Academy also got a good showing from Julio Cardoso, who tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. What's more, Cardoso gave up only three walks, the fewest he's had since back in February.
On the hitting side, Jon Mora made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-2.
Dwyer's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-6. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Somerset Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Dwyer has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Somerset Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
