If the Schroon Lake Wildcats were feeling good off their 71-41 takedown of the Willsboro Central Warriors two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Schroon Lake fell 65-57 to Bolton Central on Thursday. Schroon Lake was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Bolton Central apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bolton Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaxon Egloff, who scored 14 points. The game was Egloff's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Hubert, who scored 15 points.
Schroon Lake now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Bolton Central, they pushed their record up to 6-3 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
Schroon Lake's road trip will continue as they head out to face Chazy at 6:30 p.m. on January 9th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New York (Chazy is ranked 581st, while Schroon Lake is ranked 586th). As for Bolton Central, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Crown Point at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Crown Point focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Wednesday.
