The Jackpot Jaguars lost against the West Wendover Wolverines back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Jackpot was beaten by West Wendover 52-5. Jackpot was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 26-0.
Lesly Tovar was the offensive standout of the match as she dropped a double-double on 19 points and 10 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Jimenez, who scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Jackpot and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for West Wendover, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jackpot will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Twin Falls Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on December 18th. As for West Wendover, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against McDermitt at 11:30 a.m.
