Caledonia is 6-1 against Chatfield since May of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Warriors will challenge the Gophers at 5:00 p.m. Caledonia's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Chatfield's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Caledonia had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Wabasha-Kellogg on Thursday. The Warriors blew past the Falcons 9-2. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Landon O'Heron and Will Allen made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, O'Heron tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Allen struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. O'Heron also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Caledonia is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-3 otherwise. At bat, O'Heron went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Allen went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Garrett Konz was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one double. That triple was his first of the season. Ben Stemper was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs.
Caledonia was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive games.
Chatfield couldn't beat Lake City on Monday even though they stacked eight runs on them in the fifth inning. The Gophers lost 17-10 to the Tigers. On the bright side, the ten- run performance marked the Gophers' highest-scoring contest to date.
Caledonia has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Chatfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
Caledonia took their win against Chatfield in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 15-0 score. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Gophers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
