The Wayne Pioneers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They blew past Grace Christian, posting a 77-46 victory at home. The victory was some much needed relief for Wayne as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Wayne got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaac Meddings out in front who scored 22 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Meddings posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Adkins, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds.
Wayne's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-8. As for Grace Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
Wayne will take on Scott at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in West Virginia (Scott is ranked 60th, while Wayne is ranked 82nd). As for Grace Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Rock Hill at 7:30 p.m.
