After two games on the road, Memorial is heading back home. They will take on the Sapulpa Chieftains at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Memorial was able to grind out a solid win over the Buffaloes, taking the game 70-58. Given Memorial's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 75th, while the Buffaloes are ranked 323rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Memorial's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Antonio Love, who scored 19 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Love has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Sapulpa got the win against the Lions on Tuesday by a conclusive 63-38. That 25 point margin sets a new team best for Sapulpa this season.
Memorial's win bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Sapulpa, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-8.
Memorial strolled past the Chieftains in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 55-41. Will Memorial repeat their success, or do the Chieftains have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
