Softball Recap: Brownfield Has No Trouble Against Lamesa

Brownfield's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 16-6 margin over the Lamesa Tornadoes. The result was nothing new for the Cubs, who have now won six contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Brownfield is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Lamesa, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-8.

Coincidentally, Brownfield and Lamesa will both be playing Denver City the next time they take the field. The Tornadoes will head out to face the Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Cubs will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
