Palos Verdes put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Peninsula on the road to the tune of 48-7. The result was nothing new for Palos Verdes, who have now won six matches by 24 points or more so far this season.
Palos Verdes found their leader in underclassman Ryan Rakowski, who threw for 244 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Eric Mulkey, who rushed for 68 yards and a touchdown.
Another reason for the win was Palos Verdes' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Reis Jacob and his two sacks.
Palos Verdes' victory was their sixth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 10-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.5 points per game. As for Peninsula, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
The Palos Verdes Sea Kings will head out on the road to face off against the Mission Viejo Diablos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard. Peninsula does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
