The Lake Buena Vista Vipers will head out on the road to face off against the Bishop Moore Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake Buena Vista will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 392nd, while Bishop Moore is ranked 84th).
Last Friday, Lake Buena Vista suffered a tough 37-14 defeat at the hands of Poinciana. Lake Buena Vista was down 28-7 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Although Lake Buena Vista took the loss, they still got scores from Ramzi Maali and Micah Winslow.
Meanwhile, Bishop Moore had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They didn't even let Deltona onto the board and left with a 59-0 win. The result was nothing new for Bishop Moore, who have now won three matchups by 32 points or more so far this season.
Bjorn Jurgensen continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 215 yards and six touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Gabriel Diaz, who picked up 93 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Lake Buena Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Bishop Moore, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 5-3.
Lake Buena Vista was dealt a bruising 49-12 loss at the hands of Bishop Moore in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Can Lake Buena Vista avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
