East Jordan and Grayling are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The East Jordan Red Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Grayling Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for East Jordan and seven for Grayling.
Last Thursday, things could have been worse for East Jordan, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 53-37 loss to Boyne City. While losing is never fun, East Jordan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 432nd, while Boyne City is ranked 192nd).
Despite the defeat, East Jordan had strong showings from Korbyn Russell, who scored 16 points, and Ryder Malpass, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Grayling ended up a good deal behind St. Francis on Thursday and lost 66-47.
East Jordan has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Grayling, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-11.
East Jordan strolled past Grayling in their previous matchup last Tuesday by a score of 59-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for East Jordan since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
