Columbus is 9-1 against Southeast since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Columbus Titans will head out on the road to challenge the Southeast Lancers at 6:00 p.m. Columbus is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
Last Tuesday, Columbus lost to Girard on the road by a decisive 69-50 margin. Columbus was down 54-33 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Despite the loss, Columbus had strong showings from Brylie Johnson, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals, and Grace Major, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals. It was the first time this season that Johnson scored 15 or more points. Ava Harman was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Even though they lost, Columbus were working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
After soaring to a 40-point win in their last game, Southeast came back down to earth on Friday. They fell just short of Uniontown by a score of 35-32.
Columbus has not been sharp recently as the team has lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Southeast, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-7.
Columbus beat Southeast 32-22 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Will Columbus repeat their success, or does Southeast have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
