Baseball Recap: Round Rock Christian Academy Triumphs

After losing to New Braunfels Thunder the last time they met, Round Rock Christian Academy decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Round Rock Christian Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against New Braunfels Thunder on Monday, sneaking past 4-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Crusaders.

Miles Gittinger and Jesse Wehba made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Gittinger pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Wehba struck out 12 batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Gittinger also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Round Rock Christian Academy is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-5 otherwise. At bat, Gittinger scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Wehba scored a run while going 3-for-3. What's more, Wehba posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Austin Chamblee, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Round Rock Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Round Rock Christian Academy's record now sits at 4-6. As for New Braunfels Thunder, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-4.

Round Rock Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 8-2 defeat against Valor South Austin on the 18th. As for New Braunfels Thunder, they have also already played their next game, a 14-1 win against Somerset on the 20th.
