The Kingman Bulldogs proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by 29) but on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against River Valley and snuck past 53-51. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Kingman.
It was another big night for Michael Mcculley, who scored 24 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Neo Walema was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven assists and seven rebounds.
Despite the loss, River Valley still got an impressive performance from Nysaiah Vargas, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Nash Hanrahan, who scored 20 points.
Even though they lost, River Valley were working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. This was only their ninth loss (out of 12 games) when they've passed the ball that well.
The victory got Kingman back to even at 9-9. As for River Valley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kingman will take on American Leadership Academy - West Foothills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. American Leadership Academy - West Foothills knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Kingman likes a good challenge. As for River Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Salome at 6:00 p.m. Salome is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
