This season hasn't been kind to the Hughes Springs Mustangs, who are still winless after their 18th match. They had to suffer through a rough 64-23 loss at the hands of New Diana. Hughes Springs has not had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Starrmia Dixon was nothing short of spectacular for New Diana: she scored 26 points along with six rebounds and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dixon has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kayleigh Tibbetts, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine steals.
Hughes Springs dropped their record down to 0-18 with that loss, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for New Diana, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-16.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hughes Springs will take on the Bears at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for New Diana, they will head out on the road to square off against the Roughnecks at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
