Clearview is 0-5 against Wellington since April of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Clippers are taking a road trip to face off against the Dukes at 5:00 p.m. Clearview has given up an average of 16.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Clearview barely beat Oberlin the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Clippers put the hurt on the Phoenix with a sharp 31-18 win on Monday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Clippers as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Alivia Ocasio made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. Ocasio was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with three stolen bases, five runs, and three RBI. Those five runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Clearview got a massive performance out of Leyla Young, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three runs gave Young a new career-high. Angela Trent was another key player, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with five RBI and three runs.
Meanwhile, Wellington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 10-4 to Black River.
Like Clearview, Wellington also got a great game from a two-way player: Mallory Pickering. She tossed seven innings while giving up four earned (and six unearned) runs off ten hits. Pickering has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two runs.
In other batting news, Courtney Krosse was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season.
Clearview's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 2-9. As for Wellington, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
Tuesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Clearview has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .438. However, it's not like Wellington struggles in that department as they've averaged .433. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Clearview might still be hurting after the 20-4 defeat they got from Wellington in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Clippers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
