The Wakefield Trojans suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 51-26 walloping at the hands of Ponca. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Wakefield has scored all season.
Anthony Valenzuela was Wakefield's leading scorer, having posted eight points.
Jacob Borg held things down on the boards with eight rebounds. He took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.
Wakefield's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Ponca, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wakefield will stay at home for another game and welcome Crofton on January 23rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Crofton is ranked 158th, while Wakefield is ranked 146th). As for Ponca, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cedar Catholic on Tuesday. Cedar Catholic and Ponca are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
