Harrison has gone 8-1 against Frankfort recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Raiders will be playing at home against the Hot Dogs at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Harrison 3.6, Frankfort 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Harrison is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Indiana's top teams: Bloomington South, who was ranked 23rd at the time (Harrison was ranked 15th). The Raiders walked away with a 12-7 victory over the Panthers on Saturday. That's two games straight that the Raiders have won by exactly five runs.
Colton Watts looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jack Gonzalez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Kendrick Pena, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Harrison always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Frankfort was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Peru. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Hot Dogs have suffered since May 11, 2024.
Frankfort saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexis Sandoval-Alanis, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. JJ Mejia also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Harrison's win bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Frankfort, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.
Harrison took their victory against Frankfort when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 14-2 score. Do the Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hot Dogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
