This season hasn't been kind to the Lordstown Red Devils, who are still winless after their 12th game. They took a serious blow against St. John on Thursday, falling 54-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Lordstown has suffered since December 4, 2023.
St. John got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mickey Zheng out in front who shot 4-for-7 from deep and dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Zheng has scored all season. Another player making a difference was alyssa cevera, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Lordstown's loss was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-12. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 11.5 points per game. As for St. John, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-7.
Coincidentally, Lordstown and St. John will both be playing Windham the next time they take the court. St. John will host Windham at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, while Lordstown will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
