The Greenbrier Panthers will be playing at home against the Searcy Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Searcy took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Greenbrier, who comes in off a win.
Greenbrier had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They enjoyed a cozy 34-20 victory over Mountain Home on Friday. The win was just what Greenbrier needed coming off of a 55-7 defeat in their prior contest.
Greenbrier's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kane Richardson, who rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 207 yards and two touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Enoch Assan, who rushed for 156 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.4 yards per carry.
Meanwhile, Searcy suffered a tough 42-20 defeat at the hands of West Memphis on Friday. It was the first time this season that Searcy let down their fans at home.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Tyler Strickland, who threw for 151 yards and two touchdowns.
Greenbrier's victory bumped their record up to 5-5. As for Searcy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
We should be in store for an exciting game Friday as both teams have no problem gaining yardage. Greenbrier has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 368.5 total yards per game. However, it's not like Searcy struggles in that department as they've been even better at 421.3 per game. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
