On Saturday, Maranatha didn't have too much trouble with Centennial on the road as they won 51-34. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Maranatha.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Maranatha to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trevor Cohen, who scored 13 points. Chris Smith was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Centennial's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rodrick Hodges, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. Hodges continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Godwill Fomusoh, who scored six points along with ten rebounds and two steals.
Maranatha is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Centennial, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 16-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maranatha will face off against Village Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Village Christian will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Centennial, they will head out on the road to challenge Frontier at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Frontier will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
