After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sumner-Eddyville-Miller, the Red Cloud Warriors were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Wilcox-Hildreth out 32-29. For Red Cloud, this counts as revenge for the 39-16 defeat Wilcox-Hildreth walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Red Cloud to victory, but perhaps none more so than Adelynn Minnick, who scored 13 points. The game was Minnick's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josie Rust, who scored 11 points.
Wilcox-Hildreth's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madison Bunger, who scored five points along with six rebounds and six steals. Bunger is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
The win got Red Cloud back to even at 2-2. As for Wilcox-Hildreth, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Red Cloud will be home for the holidays to greet Shelton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Shelton's defense has only allowed 25.2 points per game this season, so Red Cloud's offense will have their work cut out for Red Cloud. As for Wilcox-Hildreth, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Arapahoe at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Arapahoe focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Saturday.
