Northeast Bradford dropped to 1-2 on Monday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They lost 16-9 to the Cowanesque Valley Indians. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.
Orissa Gardner and Zoey Thetga did some serious damage despite the final result: Gardner went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Thetga went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Karmyn McPherson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.
As for Cowanesque Valley, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 12.3 runs this season.
On Cowanesque Valley's side, Lilah LaBarron made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. LaBarron was even better at the plate, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, three stolen bases, and six RBI. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Taylor Eldridge was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Zeraya Wilson, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Northeast Bradford didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-0 win against Sayre on the 31st. As for Cowanesque Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 12-4 defeat against Williamson on the 31st.
