 Back at the plate, Pearl City let  Logan Honma and  Jace Noda loose on the outfield. Honma  scored a  run and  stole a base while  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances, while  Noda  scored three  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of  Devin Fujino, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Meanwhile, Nanakuli faced Waipahu in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. Nanakuli blew past Waipahu 8-2.
 Like Pearl City, Nanakuli also got a great game from a two-way player:  Jordan Kay. He  tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off   three  hits. Kay was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with a  stolen base, a  double,  and  an  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Ezra Kanakaole was  excellent,  scoring three  runs and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.  Carmelo Fuller was another key contributor,  going 1-for-4 with a  triple and a  run.
 Pearl City's record is now 2-3. As for Nanakuli, their victory  ended  a  six-game drought on the road  dating back to last season and  puts them at 1-2.
Nanakuli's pitching crew has a tough task ahead of them:  Pearl City hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .336.
