It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Princeton Tigers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Indians 73-70. Yes, you read that score correctly, and yes, they were playing football.
Princeton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chance Barker led the charge by throwing for 503 yards and eight touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Dominick Collins, who gained 349 total yards and five touchdowns.
The win (which was Princeton's sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points per game. As for Bridgeport, their loss dropped their record down to 11-2.
Princeton will square off against Martinsburg at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Martinsburg is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Bridgeport does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
