Millard North faced Westview in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Mustangs never let the Wolverines get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by seven runs or more this season.

Wade Spencer tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ripken Fleck, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Clayton Mathiason was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Millard North always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westview only posted an OBP of .227.

The win made it two in a row for Millard North and bumps their season record up to 14-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Westview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-11.

Looking ahead, Millard North will host Omaha Westside at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Westview, they will take on Papillion-LaVista South at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Titans have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
