The Greenville Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 60-53 to Carroll. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Greenville in their matchups with Carroll: they've now lost seven in a row.
Carroll was led to victory by Devon Pruitt and Lakeith Person. Pruitt dropped a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds, while Person scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. That's the first time this season that Person pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was N'jia Gosha, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Greenville's loss was their sixth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-14. As for Carroll, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.
Greenville won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Georgiana at 5:00 p.m. on January 13th. Georgiana knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven games -- so hopefully Greenville likes a good challenge. As for Carroll, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Charles Henderson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Charles Henderson's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests.
