Baseball Recap: Tara Extends Winning Streak to Three

Tara waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Donaldsonville Tigers as they made off with a 17-9 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-0 last Wednesday.

Adrian Coleman and Enrique Avila made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Coleman struck out 12 batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and five unearned) runs off six hits. Meanwhile, Avila pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Coleman has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Coleman went 2-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Avila scored four runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. With that strong performance, Avila is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game.

In other batting news, Tyrick Patin was a standout: he scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Lenmorrow Lawrence, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Tara kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matchups.

Tara pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.3 runs over those games. As for Donaldsonville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6-1.

Tara will have a chance to go back-to-back against Donaldsonville: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:35 p.m. on Friday.
