Marquette Catholic extended the longest winning streak in Prairie State this week by beating Bunker Hill, 78-27. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Explorers.
Marquette Catholic took down the Minutemen 78-27 last week, the largest margin of any game.
South Fork/Edinburg/Morrisonville's dynamic duo of Alek Harris and Dalton Pop proved tough for Lexington to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Harris threw for 151 yards and two touchdowns and Pop had 80 yards receiving. Justin Wilham helped South Fork/Edinburg/Morrisonville's passing attack out by catching five balls for 27 yards.
Austin Chausse was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 138 yards on 10 carries as Nokomis/Ramsey/Lincolnwood fell to the Minutemen. Ray Lovelace also contributed to the rushing game with 108 yards on the ground.
6-foot-2 quarterback Brenden O'Neal of Mt. Olive is the league leader in passing yards this season with 735. He has also thrown six touchdowns. On the ground, the Redskins' Chausse has rushed for 1043 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Ike Jackson. The Bunker Hill star has 15 catches for 333 yards.
A big matchup in Prairie State this week will be when Nokomis/Ramsey/Lincolnwood takes on South Fork/Edinburg/Morrisonville. At the moment, the Redskins are in first, while Drew Woodruff's team is in fourth.
Tim Nelson's team led the league in scoring this week after putting up 78 points on Bunker Hill.
