The Elmwood Trojans's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Peoria Christian Chargers at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Peoria Christian took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Elmwood, who comes in off a win.
Last Saturday, Elmwood was able to grind out a solid win over Cuba/Spoon River Valley, taking the game 42-31.
Meanwhile, Peoria Christian pushed their score all the way to 59 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 71-59 to Illini Bluffs. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Peoria Christian in their matchups with Illini Bluffs: they've now lost three in a row.
Peoria Christian's loss came about despite a quality game from Malachi Persinger, who scored 14 points along with eight assists and two steals. Another player making a difference was Gavin Walder, who scored 12 points.
Elmwood's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Peoria Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 13-9.
Elmwood came up short against Peoria Christian when the teams last played last Wednesday, falling 48-44. Can Elmwood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
