The Hurley Tigers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Everton, posting a 76-34 victory on the road. The win was some much needed relief for Hurley as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Despite the defeat, Everton saw an underclassman step up: Josh Daniels dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Daniels hasn't dropped below two steals for 18 straight games.
Even though they lost, Everton were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Hurley's victory ended a ten-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-16. As for Everton, their defeat was their 23rd straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-23.
Hurley will take on New Covenant Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hurley has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Everton, they will head out on the road to square off against School of the Ozarks at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully School of the Ozarks focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Saturday.
