Basketball Recap: Walker Has No Trouble Against Mandeville

With a playoff win on the line, Walker rose to the challenge on Monday. Everything went their way against the Mandeville Skippers as they made off with a 60-36 win. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 20 games by 24 points or more this season.

Arionna Patterson was her usual excellent self, to rack up 26 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Walker's points. Another player making a difference was La'Shantae Clay, who posted four points in addition to seven assists and five steals.

Walker was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mandeville only nine assists.

Mandeville lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ava Arnone, who put up six points. She is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games she's played. Taylor Galiano was another key player, putting up six points.

The victory made it two in a row for Walker and bumps their season record up to 31-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points over those games. As for Mandeville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 22-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Walker nor Mandeville have any future games scheduled.
