Sacramento Country Day's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Parker Byers, who scored nine points along with two blocks. Derek Taylor was another key contributor, scoring six points along with nine rebounds.
Valley Christian was led to victory by Chase Clary and Ian Glaspy. Clary dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Glaspy scored 19 points along with seven assists and five steals. Clary hasn't dropped below 15points for nine straight games. Another player making a difference was Matthew Larson, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
This is the second loss in a row for Sacramento Country Day and nudges their season record down to 7-6. As for Valley Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-8.
Sacramento Country Day will head out on the road to square off against Buckingham Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Valley Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Cristo Rey at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. Cristo Rey is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
