Section 3 Class C - South recap Oct. 3, 2012
Canastota extended the longest winning streak in Section 3 Class C - South this week by beating Sherburne-Earlville, 13-6. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Red Raiders.
Waterville/Madison Central moved up to 386 from 455 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. A 16-0 win over Mt. Markham helped the Indians improve their standing.
LaFayette/Fabius Pompey's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Greg Krienheder threw for 35 yards and Elliott Mueller had 20 yards receiving. On the ground David Poole chipped in 202 yards. Dan Gallagher helped LaFayette/Fabius Pompey's passing attack out by catching one ball for 15 yards.
LaFayette/Fabius Pompey's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Lancers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Krienheder has thrown for 311 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Gallagher has nine catches for 211 yards. Poole leads the league in rushing with 513 yards.
A big matchup in Section 3 Class C - South this week will be when Morrisville-Eaton/Hamilton takes on Waterville/Madison Central. Morrisville-Eaton/Hamilton is currently in fifth, while the Indians are in second.
Gary Morris's team took down Clinton 30-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
