It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Hamilton County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top against the Edwards County Lions by a score of 12-9. This was a revenge game for the Foxes: when they faced off against the Lions on Tuesday, they had to take a 6-1 loss.

Zoe Baylor got the start for Hamilton County and what a start it was: she tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Baylor has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Hamilton County let Colebie Miller and Sadie Brake run wild. Miller went 2-for-5 with one home run and two RBI, while Brake went 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Brake has posted over her last 11 contests. Addison Leathers also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Hamilton County lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

The win made it two in a row for Hamilton County and bumps their season record up to 9-10. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Edwards County, they moved to 14-5 with that defeat, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hamilton County will welcome Webber at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.73 runs per game on average), something the Foxes will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Edwards County, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Robinson at 4:30 p.m.
