Basketball Recap: I'zahvien Perkins Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Memphis Central

Fairley posted their closest win since January 26, 2024 on Monday. They had just enough and edged the Memphis Central Warriors out 60-57. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 63-46 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Fairley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was I'Zahvien Perkins out in front who went 7 for 13 on his way to 17 points. Perkins has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Issac Wright Jr. was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Fairley has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Memphis Central, they moved to 11-3 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairley will head out to take on Memphis University School at 6:00 p.m. on January 7th. Fairley has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 215 points over their last three contests. As for Memphis Central, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Memphis East at 7:30 p.m. on January 10th.
