Everything went their way against Thomas County Central as Veterans made off with a 80-57 win. Given Veterans' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while Thomas County Central is ranked 272nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Veterans to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chandler Thomas, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Thomas has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last nine times he's played. Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Veterans' road trip will continue as they head out to face Warner Robins at 5:30 p.m. on January 20th. Warner Robins knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matches -- so hopefully Veterans likes a good challenge. As for Thomas County Central, they will head out on the road to square off against Lee County at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Lee County is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 63.7 points per game.
