The Foothill Falcons will square off against the Desert Oasis Diamondbacks at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Foothill's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Las Vegas as they made off with an 18-0 victory. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Jordan Ackerman made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double.

In other batting news, Foothill got a massive performance out of Kameryn Morales, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave Morales a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brynlie Mitchell, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Foothill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .591. They are 6-1-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Desert Oasis made easy work of Mojave on Thursday and carried off a 15-0 victory.
Like Foothill, Desert Oasis also got a great game from a two-way player: Ali Perkins. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Perkins has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Cassidy Infante was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Nolly Newbry was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Desert Oasis is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Foothill, their victory bumped their record up to 7-9-1.
Foothill's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's contest. The Falcons have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Desert Oasis, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Foothill continue to outrun the ball?
Foothill was able to grind out a solid win over Desert Oasis in their previous meeting two weeks ago, winning 12-9. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Diamondbacks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
